I have 18 years of experience specializing in fine art wedding photography, having created a unique aesthetic to produce timeless images of the once-in-a-lifetime events entrusted to my care.
Your wedding photographs should more than document the most important day of your life -- they should evoke memories, emotions, love. To achieve this, I combine my own signature style with careful attentiveness to my clients' desires.
As you have probably noticed, there are lots of wedding photographers. Digital photography makes it easy for anyone to pick up a camera and obtain useable results. This is not professional photography and you shouldn't entrust your precious moments to anyone other than an artist. Low-priced work is attractive given how expensive weddings have become, but the price of poorly done wedding photography is incalculably higher than paying a reasonable amount for a true professional. Of all places to cut corners when planning your wedding, wedding experts agree photography is not it.
As part of my not cutting corners, I shoot primarily with medium format film and digital cameras. Both film and medium format cameras are opposed to the modern ethic of taking tons of photos and hoping a few turn out well. My film and equipment choices require a mastery of photography. When used properly, they produce romantic, ethereal, richly toned art. They allow me to take a more thoughtful approach to photography and better connect with the moments and people before my lens. I would love for you to see the difference by viewing my wedding and engagement galleries.
I photograph in Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland.
